Courses of study

The records of the Courses of study data group detail the offered courses of study. Courses of study records are referenced by one or more Courses records.

Code that uniquely identifies the course of study, such as A300.

Full name of the course of study, such as Bachelor of Arts.

The same name can be used for several Courses of study.

Code that indicates the course level, such as 01 - Higher doctorate.

Sum of the EFTSL for the units of study needed to meet the academic requirements for the course. The load is a decimal value with one digit allowed each side of the decimal point, such as 1.0, 0.4, and 2.1.

The Course of study load is required for all courses of study except the following:

  • Higher doctorates
  • Cross institutional courses
  • Non-award courses
  • OUA courses.

Indicates whether the course of study is a combined course of study. If Yes, the course of study is a combined course of study.

Unique identifier for records previously migrated from HEPCAT to TCSI.

Unique identifier from the student management system.

The date and time the record was last submitted. N/A if the record has never been submitted.

The current status of the record. The Record status table details the icon, label, description, and status bar colour for each status. Hover over the status icon to see detailed information.

Pending update Pending update Record has not yet been submitted. That is, the record is new or requires an update. Amber status bar
Warning Warning Record has been sent and saved in TCSI, but with a warning. Amber status bar
Processing Processing Record has been submitted and is being processed. Amber status bar
Dependency not met Dependency not met Record requires a parent or related record that has not been submitted yet. The data dependency is blocking the submission of the record. Red status bar
Error Error Record is in error. Click to see the error details in the side panel. Red status bar
Pending delete Pending delete Record is flagged for deletion. Amber status bar

Amber status bar indicating record not saved A small triangle in the status bar indicates that the record has not been saved after making changes.

If selected, the record has been approved. The check box is disabled, greyed out, if:

  • The data has unmet dependencies. For example, a student in Course admissions record has not yet been submitted to TCSI.
  • The data is in progress of being sent to TCSI. That is, the status is processing.
