How to purge records

Purge records to remove records from a data group.

  • Purging records removes the parent and child records for a data group, but does not remove any downstream records. For records that are downstream of the purged record, the downstream records are retained in Submissions, but the related data appears in the grid as No data and the record's status does not change.

  • Purging records from Submissions does not remove records from TCSI.

  • Purging records may fail if there are pending changes or submissions being processed.

Purge records as follows:

  1. On the data group, select Select records the records to purge.

Optionally, add a filter to show only the records of interest and then select Select records the individual records to purge or purge all the records in the filter.

Attention. Tribal recommends that up to 1000 records are selected to avoid performance issues with the browser.

  2. Download the selected records to an Excel file as a backup, select Download icon, the number of selected records is shown on the icon.

  3. Purge the selected records, select Purge icon, the number of selected records is shown on the icon.

  4. Wait while the purge finishes and then select Notifications to view a summary of the purge.
