Course applications
The records of the Course applications data group are used by HEP and TAC providers to report data for the Higher Education Data Collection. Each Course application record must have a combination of the values for the application identification code (E700) and reporting year (E415) that are unique to each provider.
Attention. A Course applications record has the extensions Course preferences and Course offers. A Course offers record has the extension Basis for admission.

A code assigned by the institution or admissions centre during the application phase that uniquely identifies an application.
The reporting year for this course application, such as 2022.
Code that indicates the status of the application, such as 01 - Current application.
Family name or surname of the applicant. 9999 if not provided.
First given name of the applicant. 9999 if the applicant only has one name.
Applicants with only one name should be reported using E402 Family name.
Other given names of the applicant, such as middle names. 9999 if the applicant has no other given names.
Date of birth of the applicant. 01/01/1901 if the date of birth cannot be provided.
Code that identifies the applicant's gender, such as F - Female.
You should determine the gender of the applicant where the information has not been provided. X should not be used as a default code when an applicant has not provided their gender as this could misgender the applicant.
Code that identifies whether the applicant identifies as being of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent, or both, such as 4 - Torres Strait Islander origin but not Aboriginal. 9 for no information.
Applicant's citizenship and residence status, such as 3 - Applicant with permanent visa other than permanent humanitarian visa.
Number and street of the applicant's residence, such as 24 BEACH ROAD.
Suburb of the applicant's residence, such as TORQUAY.
Australian postcode of the applicant's residence, such as 3220.
Australian state or territory of the applicant's residence, such as VIC - Victoria.
Code that indicates the type of principal Australian Year 12 qualification for the applicant in the current year, such as 06 Victorian Certificate of Education.
International Baccalaureate aggregate score achieved by an applicant who completed an International Baccalaureate Diploma or Bilingual Diploma in the current year. The aggregate score out of 45 points is a numerical value from 21 to 45. 99 applicant's score is unknown or cannot be reported.
Code that indicates the highest educational level previously achieved by the applicant, such as 300 - Bachelor's degree. 000 if the other codes do not describe the applicant’s level of attainment.
Australian tertiary admission rank indicates the applicant’s relative academic ranking in high school and is a numerical value between 0.05 and 99.95. 0 if an ATAR is not available for the applicant.
Required for domestic applicants who are recent school leavers.
Unique identifier from TCSI for the course application.
Unique identifier from the student management system.
The date and time the record was last submitted. N/A if the record has never been submitted.
The current status of the record. The Record status table details the icon, label, description, and status bar colour for each status. Hover over the status icon to see detailed information.

A small triangle in the status bar indicates that the record has not been saved after making changes.
If selected, the record has been approved. The check box is disabled, greyed out, if the data is in progress of being sent to TCSI. That is, the status is processing.
