Send student records for TFN and USI verification when you receive a notification that the TFN verification process has expired or the student has subsequently informed them the ATO has been updated with the correct information. You require the permission TFN and USI Verification to send student records for TFN and USI verification.
Sending student records for TFN and USI verification always starts the TFN verification process. However, the USI verification process starts only if the USI is recorded and has not been verified.
Some VET students that were reported as part of HEIMS may have never had their USI verified in TCSI as part of the HEIMS to TCSI migration by the department when TCSI went live. To find these students, and if they are returning students:

Contact TCSI Support and obtain a student data extract.

Filter the student data extract by USI exists (not null) and the USI Verified flag set to False.
Then, for the impacted students:

Set the first name to 9999 in Submissions and submit the student.

Wait an hour or so and then set the student's first name back to their original first name

Submit the student again.
Send student records for TFN and USI verification as follows:

On the student data group, find the student records to send for TFN and USI verification.
Apply a filter to show only the records of interest and to show only student records that do not have the status in error, pending update, pending delete, or in processing states. Then, select
the records to send for verification.Attention.Student records with the status in error, pending update, pending delete, or in processing states cannot be sent to TCSI and the ATO for TFN verification.
