Editable fields are defined in the Submissions module, which also defines whether the values edited in Submissions override the values from the acronymSMS, and whether you can bulk edit fields.
Course details
E3 0 7 Course code
Code that uniquely identifies the course, such as 2 2 4 7 7 vic.
E3 0 8 Course name
Full name of the course, such as Advanced Diploma in Building Design.
The course name must be unique.
E5 9 6 Standard course duration
Standard duration of the course in years. The duration is a whole or a decimal number with one digit to the left and a maximum of three digits to the right of the decimal point. That is, a course with a duration of two and a half years would be 2.5 and a course with a duration of three years would be 3.
Note that the following have a duration of 0:
- Non-award courses
- Cross provider programs
- Units of study undertaken through acronymOUA
- Courses that are available only on a part-time basis.
E6 0 9 Course effective from date
Date from which the course is valid, such as 01/01/2019.
Note that it is acceptable for the date to be rounded-down to the nearest half-year.
E6 10 Course effective to date
Date until which the course is valid, such as 31/12/2024.
Empty if not applicable.
E5 3 3 Course of study code
Code that identifies the course of study for the course, such as eh300.

Extension: Fields of education
E4 6 1 Field of education code
Code that identifies the educational field of the course, such as 020101 - Astrobiology.
Codes are defined by the acronymABS (Australian Bureau of Statistics):
E4 6 2 Supplementary code
Identifies the additional field of education to which a combined course is classified, such as 010101 - Mathematics.
Supplementary classification does not apply to:
- Non-combined courses
- Non-award courses
- acronymOUA units.
E6 0 9 Effective from date
Date from which the field of education is valid, such as 01/01/2019.
Last submitted
The date and time the record was last submitted. N/A if the record has never been submitted.
Status
The current status of the record. The Record status table details the icon, label, description, and status bar colour for each status. Hover over the status icon to see detailed information.

Code that identifies courses of special interest to acronym taxi, such as 22 - A course providing initial teacher training. 00 for non-special course types.
Required only for courses with a special course type classification.
E6 0 9 Effective from date
Date from which the special course type is valid, such as 01/01/2019.
E6 10 Effective to date
Date until which the special course type is valid, such as 24/12/2024.
Last submitted
The date and time the record was last submitted. N/A if the record has never been submitted.
Status
