Application queries enables you to search for applications across all desks, whereas the applications list shows applications at a specific desk only.
You can build complex search criteria to find applications using criteria, sub-criteria, and related criteria. On finding the applications of interest, you can then select the applications and choose actions to perform, such as making decisions or sending to enrolment.
Actions
Use application queries to find applications. You can then select one or more applications to perform the following actions:
- Communicate with applicants
- Communicate with applicants to send emails with the following notifications:
Programme cancellation notification
Programme change notification
Shortlisted notification
- Review applications
- Review one or more applications to view details of the application, such as statements and references, education and experience, clearance checks, and so on.
- Move to desk
- Move up to 100 applications to a folder at another desk. For example, to move a selection of applications to a desk for an alternative campus.

The applications are moved to a folder with the same name. However, if the desk does not have a folder with the same name, applications are moved to the desk’s default folder for new applications.
- Move to folder
- Move up to 100 applications to a folder at the same desk. For example, to move a selection of applications whose applicants must be interviewed to an Interview required folder.
- Make decisions
- Make decisions on up to 50 applications. For example, to make unconditional offers.
- The action changes to View decisions if you do not have permissions to edit the selected applications at a desk.
- Assign responsible person
- Assign a responsible person on up to 100 applications.
- Send to enrolment
- Send up to 100 applications to enrolment to set the completion state to Sent to enrolment. Workflows can move applications, such as to a Ready for enrolment folder, when the completion state is set.
- Close applications
- Close up to 100 applications to set the completion state to Closed. Workflows can move applications, such as to an Archive folder, when the completion state is set.
Search criteria
You can build complex search criteria to find applications using criteria, sub-criteria, and related criteria as detailed below.
Attention. For performance reasons, the search results are limited to 500 applications. If more than 500 applications meet the search criteria, a message alerts you to the number of matching applications. For example, Your search retrieved the first 500 of 644 matching applications.
Criteria and sub-criteria
The search criteria consist of application data, desks or folders, person data, personal characteristics, and research data. Search criteria can be connected using the AND and OR operators. Search criteria can have sub-criteria that further filters the applications. Sub-criteria are also connected using the AND and OR operators.

Related criteria
Related criteria filters on information associated to applications such as clearance checks and qualifications. Related criteria can only be connected to groups using the AND operator.
