What's new in Admissions?

The July 2025 (2025.07) release has the following updates:

Actions

Actions now opens applications on the relevant tab for the action. That is, when reviewing an application in the list of applications for the action, the application opens on the tab for that action. For example, on viewing applications with outstanding actions for confirmation review, the application opens on the Reviews tab.

The short video Actions shows a desk that has an action for a confirmation review. On viewing the application, the application opens on the Reviews tab showing Confirmation review-in progress.

Clearing

Enquiries become applications once the clearing enquirer applies to the programme of the enquiry through UCAS. On applying through UCAS, the enquiry automatically becomes an application and the enquiry is removed from the list of enquiries. However, if a clearing enquirer makes a mistake when applying to the programme through UCAS, such as selecting the wrong entry point, admissions officers can link the enquiry to the correct application.

Clearing enquiries that can be linked to applications have a vertical ellipsis () button, which shows a list of the applications that can be linked. Admissions officers can then select the appropriate application. Note that an enquiry can only be linked to one application. Admissions officers can also view the application to ensure that the application is correct.

On linking an enquiry to an application, the enquiry is removed from the list of enquiries. The enquiry is shown as a linked enquiry on the Application tab of the person profile. Enquiries linked to applications are highlighted with the icon linked. Admissions officers can unlink an application from an enquiry if required.

For UCAS applications only. From September 2026 onwards, the following questions will appear on the Statement and reference tab and when adding or editing a statement:

  1. Why do you want to study this course or subject?

  2. How have your qualifications and studies helped you to prepare for this course or subject?

  3. What else have you done to prepare outside of education, and why are these experiences useful?

The short video UCAS statements shows the UCAS statement questions on the Statements and reference tab and how to add or edit answers.
