Visa sponsorship settings

The Visa sponsorship settings area details the settings for the sponsor licence number and the reference data.

Attention You must have the required permissions, as defined by the authorisation policies, to edit the sponsor licence number. For more information on permissions, go to Visa sponsor permissions.

Sponsor management

Visa sponsorship settings enables to you enter or update the sponsor licence number for the institution. Sponsor management defines the sponsor licence number for the institution.

Reference data

Reference data defines the reference data for CAS requests. The table Visa sponsorship reference data details the reference data used in Visa sponsorship. The reference data is non-editable.

Reference name Description

Academic level

Academic levels that define the qualification an applicant has achieved. The academic levels are based on the following frameworks:

CEFR (Common European framework of reference for languages)

RQF (Regulated qualifications framework

SCQF (Scottish credit and qualifications framework)

For more information on SCQF, go to SCQF – The Framework .

CAS status

The status of the CAS from UKVI, currently only Assigned is in use.

CAS gender

Genders classified by biological sex, that is Male or Female.

Course progression

Course progression defines whether the course applied for is the Same, Lower, or Higher than any previous courses completed by the student.

English language level attained

Level that the student attained in their English language test, such as CEFR level A2.

English test provider

Provider of the student's English language test, such as Pearson.

Reason SELT not required

Reason a student does not need to provide a SELT (secure English language test), such as Migrant from majority English speaking country.

Request status

Status of the CAS request in Visa sponsorship, such as Preparing, Awaiting approval, Ready to send to UKVI, and Assigned.

Note that the CAS request status corresponds to the folder in Visa sponsorship and is also shown in applications.
