Edge authorisation is parent policy for all of the Edge authorisation policies. The child policies are organised in a hierarchy. You can add policies and roles. Policies define the following:

Permissions that can be used to control access.

Application roles that can be granted permissions.

Role assignments that map users into application roles.

Child policies that inherit all the permissions, roles and assignments.
Child policies
Child policies inherit all the permissions, roles and assignments of the parent policy.
Roles
Role assignments that map users into application roles. Roles are defined for each child policy, which include the roles inherited from the parent policy.
