What are roles and permissions?

The role Edge administrator is the administrative role for all Edge apps. Apps have specific roles such as the Applications viewer for the Applications app and the Submissions officer for the Submissions app. Permissions enable admissions staff, such as managers, to use the applications manager.

Attention. Role permissions are cumulative. Therefore, having more than one role gives all the permissions available in each role.

Each role can have permissions for the following:

Administrative permissions
Administrative permissions define root level permissions that enable Edge administrators to set up services, jobs, security, and so on.
App permissions
User permissions define ui permissions that enable users such as Applications Officers to use the Applications app, review, and process applications.
