How to find application errors

Application errors are logged for errors that occur during the import of applications from integrations such as student management systems and admissions services.

Find application errors as follows:

  1. Filter the application error list to find the error of interest: on Applications, go to Integrations and then Applications.

For example, filter the applications error list by error type UCAS import and then by severity Error as shown in the image UCAS import errors. Note that a summary of the error is shown in the Message column.

To find UCAS import errors, filter the applications error list by error type UCAS import and then by severity Error

  2. View the full details of the error: go to the button to view options and then View . Note that the application error details are dynamic. That is, the labels and information shown changes depending on the type of error.

For example, the UCAS import error shown in the image UCAS import error details shows a description of the error and information that can be used to identify the data causing the error, such as missing reference data values. The Personal ID and Application scheme code can be used to identify the specific applicant and application.

  3. Optionally, fix the cause of the application error.

For example, fix the error for missing UCAS reference data as follows:

    • Import the reference data from UCAS: go to Integrations and then Imports and then Reference data and then Import new and updated.

    • Then, import the application from UCAS: go to Integrations and then Imports and then Applications and then vertical ellipsis and then Import applicant, define the UCAS personal ID, Application scheme code and, optionally, the Institution. If successful, the application will be available for processing in Applications.

  4. Check the application error list and mark the error as complete as follows:

    • Filter the list of application errors to find the error of interest: go to Integrations and then Applications.
    • Then, remove the error from the application errors list: select Mark as complete.
