What is system admin?

The system admin area is aimed at system administrators and developers as described below.

System administrators

System administrators manage the roles and permissions of users. Users belong to groups in Azure Active Directory or student management systems, which are mapped to authorisation groups. System administrators assign the groups to roles with permissions. System administrators also set up the applicant portal registration that enables applicants to register and log in to the applicant portal using their preferred email account, such as Gmail or Outlook.

System administrators set up and manage integrations of Admissions with UCAS. System administrator also set up and manage the integration with Data Engine and SITS:Vision.

Workflow enables system administrators to automate the progress of applications through the decision-making process. Workflows can move applications to desks and folders, add clearance checks, and add document placeholders to applications.

Developers

Developers can integrate third-party systems with Admissions using the integration APIs. Streams enable applications to receive events from Tribal modules, such as Admissions and SITS:Vision. Integration APIs can then retrieve data associated with the events. Event forwarders enable events from Admissions to be forwarded to applications that do not support Azure Event Grid. The API credentials define the scopes that are being granted to client applications.

Power Automate enables developers to automate flows between Admissions, SITS:Vision, and other systems from Azure Event Grid using streams.
