What is the conditions flow?

The conditions flow defines the academic and non-academic conditions of conditional offers. Groups of conditions help create more complex condition flows, which can be connected with logical AND or OR operators.

For example, the image Conditions flow user interface details the conditions flow for the BSc Marine Science programme with the following requirements:

  • Three Scottish Advanced Highers including Scottish Advanced Higher grade C in physics and Scottish Advanced Higher grade C in biology with the additional condition of National 5 in maths.
  • Three A levels including A level grade B in physics and A level grade B in biology with the additional condition of GCSE grade 5 or above in maths.

The key to the diagrams is as follows:

  1. Academic conditions, such as Three Scottish Advanced Highers, that define the main decision.
  2. Included conditions that define any specific qualifications, grades, and subjects of the entry requirements, such as Scottish Advanced Highers at a minimum of grade C or A levels at a minimum of grade B, in the subjects physics and biology. Note that non-academic conditions cannot have included conditions.
  3. Groups of conditions help create more complex condition flows. For example, the academic condition for Three Scottish Advanced Highers is grouped with the academic condition National 5 in maths using AND operators.
  4. Non-academic conditions define other requirements, such as a Valid student visa.

Attention. Non-academic conditions are added to the application as clearance checks when the decision is submitted. For more information on decision making, go to What is decision making and offer tracking.
