What is the Workflow designer?

The Workflow designer is a graphical design tool for creating the workflow of schemes. Schemes define the version and status of workflows such as Published and Unpublished. Schemes define the custom events that trigger workflows to run, such as applications being allocated to the default desk or applications passing clearance checks. Schemes can also be defined to trigger workflows on specific events such as created and updated.

The image Workflow designer shows the workflow that runs when applications are allocated to the default desk and then moves the applications that pass the academic clearance checks to the ready for decision folder.

  1. Workflow starts on activity A when the workflow is triggered by the custom event Default desk allocated.

  2. Conditions of transition B, as indicated by the icon Auto with a question mark, checks that applications have pass the academic clearance checks. Then:

    • If the applications pass, the applications move to activity C.

    • Otherwise, transition G moves the applications to activity H that ends the workflow.

  3. Activity C moves the applications that pass the academic clearance checks to the Ready for Decision folder.

  4. Transition D moves the applications to activity E. Transition D is always applied as indicated by the icon Auto.

  5. Activity E creates a decision publishing check and then moves the applications to activity H that ends the workflow.
