Callista integrates with Admissions through the Integration APIs. Callista transfers applications to Admissions for processing in decision making. Then, when the processing is complete, the outcomes are transferred back to Callista. For example, accepted applications in Admissions are sent for enrolment in Callista.
Transfer to Admissions
Admissions specialists run jobs in Callista to transfer reference data, staff, and applications to Admissions. Jobs log the records transferred and any errors that may have occurred.
Callista transfers records to Admissions as follows:
- Reference data and staff

The first run of the jobs that transfer reference data and synchronise staff transfer all the records in Callista to Admissions.

Attention. The reference data in Admissions must be set up before transferring the reference data from Callista.

Updates to reference data and staff records in Callista that have already been transferred are not transferred to Admissions. However, an exception is updates to the reference data for Qualification levels and Routes. Updates in Callista to Qualification levels and Routes are transferred to Admissions.
- Applications

The job to transfer applications uses attributes to determine which applications to transfer. For example, applications with the System Outcome Status of Pending, the course does not have the Course Category of NO-TRIBADM, and so on.

After transferring an application, any updates to the applicants' details in Callista are not transferred to Admissions. However, new applications from an existing applicant are transferred to Admissions.
Process in Admissions
Applications are processed in Admissions. Admissions generates events that notify Callista as follows:
- Person updates

If an applicant’s details are modified in Admissions, Admissions generates an event to notify Callista. Callista then retrieves the details and either updates the applicant details in Callista or notifies the administrator.
- Application completion

On completion in Admissions, such as when an application is set to Sent to enrolment or Closed, the final application details are transferred back to Callista. The admission statuses in Callista are then updated as required.

The jobs create logs to record the transfers including any errors. Admissions processes the applications and creates events when there are changes to applicants' details or the completion state of applications. The event notifications cause Callista to run APIs to retrieve the updates to the applicants and applications. Notifications are sent to the administrator if manual intervention is required, or an error occurs.
