What is duplicate matching in SITS:Vision?

Admissions integrated with SITS:Vision can use the duplicate matching tool in SITS:Vision. The duplicate matching tool can automate the duplicate matching process and merge applicants.

Duplicate matching

The SITS:Vision Duplicate matching process (XDUP) can compare applicants and determine the probability of the applicants being the same person. Then:

  • If the applicant is a duplicate, merge the duplicate applicant with the existing applicant. For more information, go to Merge applicants.

  • If an applicant is not a duplicate, set the merge status to No duplicate. The application is then allocated to the desk defined by the entry point of the course. If no entry point is defined, the application is allocated to the Unallocated applications desk.

You can also set the applicant's merge status to No duplicate using the override function in Admissions.

Merge applicants

The Duplicate matching process (XDUP) in SITS:Vision can merge applicants that are determined to be duplicates, which also updates the merge status of the applicants in Admissions.
